The Bayshore is a popular choice for visitors to the Isle of Wight as it is situated in a magnificent position on the seafront, opposite the superbly sandy beaches and the traditional pier and close to the high street. The Isle of Wight has a great deal to offer with many superb beaches, mile upon mile of stunning countryside and coastal walks and all the usual modern holiday facilities in the resort. Regarding the guest accessibility at the hotel, lift serves most rooms although all floors are split level. Don’t forget to upgrade to a room with a seaview and take in the fabulous scenery.

Regarding our self drive holiday makers, on-street car parking requires to pay a charge. There are also stunning nearby destinations that are waiting to be explored.

Our ground floor restaurant can seat up to 150 people
Breakfast: Freshly cooked full English Breakfast served at your table. Take your pick from freshly cooked bacon, sausages, fluffy hash browns, eggs cooked just the way you like them and more. We also offer continental options, with fruit, cereals and yoghurt.
Dinner: Three course freshly cooked menu with vegetarian and vegan options served at your table, featuring many British Classics and with tea and coffee to finish.
On arrival, you will be allocated a reserved time for the duration of your stay. If you wish to vary this time, please speak with your Restaurant team. Restaurant times may vary on departure and arrival days – full details available from Reception.

Sandown became fashionable in the Victorian period and today remains the island's principal resort offering a wealth of entertainment. It's excellent beach has been awarded 'Beach of the Year' in the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 2019 and is surrounded by a varied landscape of gentle downs and majestic cliffs.

Your Resort

Sandown first developed as a fashionable resort in Victorian times when it was visited by, amongst others, Lewis Carroll, Charles Darwin, George Eliot and Alfred Tennyson. Today it remains popular, offering a wealth of entertainment and easy access to the remarkable beauty of the rest of the island. The resort boasts long sandy beaches safe for bathing, excellent for water sports and boating and the pier, which is directly opposite our hotel, is popular with visitors.

Other attractions include the award-winning Big Cat Sanctuary and the superb Roman Villa in nearby Brading. In the summer months there are regular markets on both Sunday and Monday to supplement Sandown’s shops, cafés and restaurants.

Sandown is surrounded by a varied landscape of outstanding beauty. In addition to the downs found at its centre, the island ranges from woodland, farmland and wetland to majestic cliffs and deep chines, so that visitors are confronted by ever changing views and terrain. Indeed, Sandown itself is part of the Tennyson Heritage Coast, which stretches from the chalk cliffs of Freshwater Bay to the spectacular 'Needles' rocks - which once joined the island to the mainland - and the multi-coloured sandstone of Alum Bay.

Apart from the island’s famous natural attributes, there are over fifty absorbing attractions to be found, including ancient castles, medieval manor houses, Roman remains and fascinating animal and bird parks.

Attractions

Sandown boasts a clean, safe and extensive beach with miles of golden sands. Its esplanades and seawall walks stretch from Yaverland southwards through Lake to Shanklin Chine. Its gardens are colourful and well kept. These include Los Altos, Sandham Grounds and the delightful clifftop garden at Ferncliff.

Regular markets take place on Sunday and Monday in summer to supplement Sandown's shops, cafes and restaurants.
